We first remove Source – where the fire first originated as well as materials like insulation and mattresses that hold smoke odor like a sponge.
Next come Soot and Smoke. These particulates are carcinogenic and hazardous to health. They carry strong odors and coat all surfaces as they spread. We use a combination of HEPA air scrubbers and hydroxyls to destroy the particulates and purify the air This is paired with thorough, targeted cleaning of all surfaces using specialized solvents, cellular sponges, etc

Assess structural damage and stabilize the building to be sure the property is safe to enter. After a fire, the structure of a building may be severely compromised. We will inspect all around the building to take note of any such areas before entering the home. Then we will work to stabilize any dangerous areas so the structure can be safely accessed and work can begin.
Tarp and board up to prevent further damage during the restoration process. Fire damage may have compromised the roof, windows, or walls. Tarp and board-up services should be performed as soon as possible after the fire has been put out and the building is safe to enter. Boarding up and tarping prevents rain, wind, or debris from causing further damage, prevents pests from entering, and deters vandalism.

Mitigate further damage by working quickly to remove any standing water or areas of water damage. This a common post-fire problem if fire-fighters were working to save the property. In addition to mold and mildew which can form and spread quickly, water can also cause rust or corrosion to metal structures if not dealt with immediately. After removing standing water and drying all surfaces, we use large air movers and commercial dehumidifiers to draw out moisture that may have penetrated into wood or drywall. We may need to lift vinyl or laminate flooring to dry out the water that may have become trapped underneath before it damages your subfloor.
Quick removal of soot and debris. Soot in the air settles on surfaces and causes permanent stains. The more quickly it is removed, the better the chance of salvaging the surfaces to which it adheres. We will also remove all debris, items, and areas that were damaged beyond repair.
Removal of all personal items, damaged or not. Some of your damaged items may be able to be restored and this is often best done off-site, other damaged items may be beyond repair and need to be replaced. Even items that appear not to have suffered any damage may still be removed from the property to protect them until the building is completely restored. Fabric items like curtains and couches are particularly susceptible to mildew and will need to be worked with quickly. Depending on the item and the type and extent of damage, items eligible for restoration may need to be dried, cleaned, deodorized and touched up.
Addressing air quality and odor. After a fire, the smell of smoke can linger in the air for a long time. This air may be unsafe to breathe and unpleasant to smell. We use an air scrubber and an air mover to eliminate any remaining odors and make the air in your home safe to breathe.
Repair and restoration. Once the building is safe, clean, and dry, restoration work begins. This may involve the following and more:
a) replacing compromised structural support components,
b) replacing damaged drywall, carpet, or flooring
c) replacing damaged windows, doors, and hardware
